The article in Fine Homebuilding by Gary Katz and the techinique of his linked to earlier are the same technique.  The material is presented a little bit differently in each, but essentally is the same.  The artilce is only two pages long due to the ads.

Here is a picture of our morning room in our previous home.  I installed crown & neck molding in this room which had a vaulted ceiling.  I learned a lot by trial and error of course, but also from this book.
