Hi everyone,

I have the chance to buy a CS50 EBG set locally here in southern Sweden. I'm a hobbyist furniture maker and have a very small space to work in, about 11 square meters. The size of the saw make it very attractive to me as I would probably be able to tuck in a corner or hang it on the wall while not in use.

I'm wondering if this saw would be a good investment for me. The price is about 1500USD for the entire kit, all additional accessories included. Looks about brand new. Is there any trouble shooting I can do before I commit to the purchase? Seems like some have trouble with the accuracy of this machine but others love it.

Thanks for all comments or advice.

If you have a chance to try it, then power it up and run some wood through it:
  • Rip cuts
  • Crosscuts with the sliding table
  • Angled cuts
  • Shallow cuts (lower the blade)
  • Full-height through cuts (max height of blade)

Also, open up the blade cover and look inside to see what kind of material was being run through that saw.

Does the additional accessories include the dual-charger and the two 5.0Ah batteries and the folding cart?

Because of it’s young age, the saw should still have warranty remaining on it.

I’m excited for you‼️😀

See if the table is flat. The one I used needed rework near the blade; the table sloped down there...
See if the legs are still firmly attached to the hinges. I think they modified this party later on.
See if the sliding table is to your liking. Mine often results in a giant arc cut instead of straight line, so...
The parallel guide is complete garbage compared to other designs out there.
See how old it is. The older ones don't include the fold-out thingies on the legs so it doesn't tip sideways as easily.
See if it still slides nice.
Does it have the green or gray/black Y-hose? The green one is very new.

The CS 50 isn't a battery saw, so no.

Ooops‼️ I thought he was buying the CSC SYS 50. Oh well, I’ll leave my reply there for general thoughts.

This is what happens when I’m watching the Packers playoff game and sneaking in peeks at the forum. LOL

Do it!
I complained about it myself a lot as the second hand one I bought really didn't live up to its name initially by being everything but "Precisio"; it took me quite a bit of faffing around and frustration until I adjusted the 0° and 45° points, the fence, the sliding table, the extension- and the outfeed tables but it's been great since and I wouldn't wanna be without it, especially as it's 100% compatible with the CMS in case you still own one. The undermount pull-function has been a saving grace on many occasions and not only increases safety by a huge margin but makes it partly stand in for your miter saw. If mobility isn't your #1 concern I'd say its weight is still quite manageable in that you can quickly fold it away and carry it around yourself unlike the CS 70 or TKS 80 which are both considerably heavier. My CS 50 is one of the oldest tools in my entire arsenal and one of the earliest ones from 2004 and I expect it to easily run for another 22 years ;)
