CSX Drill

I have a Makita 18 V Drill Driver set and like them a lot for most uses, but I was wondering if the CSX would be a good compliment to that set.  Also, do you need special bits with the festool drills or can I use the bits that I have for my Makita?

The CXS would be a very good accomplyment to your drills.  Lovely wee drill.  Your hex ball dent bits won't fit into the centrotec chuck but it comes with a regular chuck that will take any shank up to 10mm.

The CSX would be a great compliment and you bits would work with the Centrotec Bit Holder Bhs 65mm. Because of it size and light weight it's my go to cordless. The T15 is my medium drill and my Panasonic is my heavy hitter. I use the CSX for 60% of what I do now.

Bruce, how do you get non Festool bits to work in a Centrotec chuck ?  Standard ball dent bits will not work as the shaft before the ball dent is longer on Festool bits.  The jacobs chuck is the only way they will fit.

All three bit holder work wel,l the locking bit holder is my favorite. That being said I got the centrotec installer kit and use it nearly exclusively and most of my non Festool bits are at the bottom of the bag.

Tom, I see what you are saying but I assumed the OP was meaning hex shaft ball dent bits straight into the Centrotec chuck, which won't work.  Maybe he could clarify which bits he meant.  Standard hss drill bits would have to go into the Jacobs chuck.

In my drill I use a dewalt quick change adapter so I can swap the bit from slotted to Phillips ect.  The adapter has the ball dent. I hope this clarifies a bit.

I have DeWalt drills in both 18v and 12v. Bought the CXS drill a couple of weeks ago. The CXS is now my favorite.

To fully utilize all the CXS features, especially using it in tight spaces, you will want a set of the Centrotec drills.

I ended up with a full set of Festool HSS drills, Imperial wood drills, and driver bits. They don't make square drive bits so I ordered some Centrotec compatible square driver bits.

The Festool drill bits seem to be of very high quality. Good stuff.

My CSX was used quite a bit for drywalling yesterday. 

My cousin kept shooting screws through the paper, so I gave him the CSX to use.  Its a little slow, but the sensitivity is perfect for setting screws the correct depth. 

The belt clip is awesome, wish my T15 had the same clip.
