Just purchased a ct 33 and wish to have 2 hoses running for 2 tools.  I am assuming the connector off of the machine is 50mm and I can purchase the 50mm wye with the blank plug.  The only other thing I need is another 27mm hose with 50mm adapter attached ?

Am I missing something? [tongue]

You got it, you want the Y-connector. It has 3 50mm ends, one is male and two are female. The hoses all have at least one 50mm male end.

Question:  Why does everyone refer to the vacuum-end fitting (or Hose Sleeve, as Festool calls them) as being 50mm?  This seems misleading to me...

I refer to it that way because that is how the mfr. refers to it. It is nominally 50mm. I didn't take the hose loose and measure the ID but I did measure the fittings and they are close to 53mm ID. With tubing, ID matters. I'm guessing that if I took the 50mm hose loose, its ID would measure about 50mm.

got it.  I measured the ID as well and the larger end with the fitting is 53mm.  The ID of the nozzle that hooks up to the tool is almost 30mm.

thx

There is an international standard for the connection to shop vacs. In said standard the vac end fittings are termed "50mm".

Perhaps it would have been better to have written that standard as "50mm Nominal" which is often the case with fairly recent standards.

Clearly when a standard is involved, it would increase confusion had Festool designed parts to meet the standard and used their own description.
