I am looking at picking up a boom arm for my ct22. I have an 11.5' hose and wonder if it is sufficient length to be useful considering it must go the legnth of the arm and connect to the saw and allow the saw to move all over the work.  the majority of the work will be cutting 4x8 hardwood ply with an atf65.

any thoughts and experience with this are appreciated, thanks

The boom arm comes with a section of hose to add to your overall length. You should be fine.

Your existing hose can just be clipped to the boom arm and will reach everything fine. On mine, I have the 27mm hose, a Festool quick connect power cord AND a 36mm hose all attached to the arm. Being cheap at the time, I purchased the blue 36mm hose at Lowes to use for the circular saws and routers to get better suction. It fits the vacuum and Festool tools perfectly. The lack of static protection has had no bad effects at all. I clipped the large hose into the boom arm and attached the other hose and power cord using Velcro staps I found for tieing up plants. I love the boom arm as I can reach virtually everything from one place in my tiny shop with it.

The hose length is fine if you're working on an MFT or bench but I find it too short for floors and walls where I think a 16' hose would be better suited.  What I do for floors is unclip it from the boom arm.

thanks for the feedback everyone.  this is a great place for real world info, insight and help from people you really understand!
