CT Mini Question

I currently have the CT 26. I like it and like that it's HEPA rated in case I need to do any lead removal. When I bought it it was the smallest one that was capable of this.
Now I'm looking around and it looks like the CT Mini is good for this. What's the disadvantage of the CT Mini vs. the CT 26? Smaller capacity, but, on paper, it seems to do everything that the overly large (for me) CT 26 does. What am I missing?

Suction is the same across models, so you're basically only dealing with capacity. The mini and midi are much more mobile when full.

Except for capacity for the current models the specs the same. Mini, Midi, 26, 36, 48, CT36AC is not HEPA certified.

That's what I thought. Wasn't sure if I may be missing something - hose size, or something else.
So, anyone want to trade?  [big grin]

The new Mini/Midi have progressive hoses, 27-32 mm.

I just picked up a new Midi about a month ago and it had the standard 27 mm hose so after reading your post I checked the Festool USA website and no mention of progressive 27-32 mm hose. I'm I missing something?

Thanks, Jim

I believe all of the DE's come with a 27mm hose, except for the 36AC which comes with a special lightweight 36mm hose.

At least that's what the website says!

I own one with the progressive hose, also has T-Loc capability. Here is a thread about the hose with the part number;

Yes you are missing something---the latest model Midi.

Is it possible to take a pic of your hose because I too have the latest model Midi with T-Loc capability and I might have to phone the dealer I purchased it from.

Thanks guys. I'm going to try to sell my CT 26 then. Any suggestions on the MIDI vs. the MINI? I don't do many big jobs and being light and quick is what I'm aiming for generally. Any reason to go with the MIDI over the MINI?
thanks.

In my opinion the Mini is just.... well, too small. The Midi seems like the perfect compromise between bulk and capacity.

But you need to decide what's gonna work for you.

I agree and after double checking my Midi it does in fact come with a tapered hose. [Slightly embarrassed] no need for the picture Tom.

I have the Min and the Midi. I like them both and they both have their place in my work flow.

The mini is great in all aspects EXCEPT --- the hose garage is way too small.  I have kinked my hose.  Maybe the midi would be better from that aspect

It is big enough for the hose itself, it fits without problem. It becomes more complicated of you also want to fit the power cord in it.

Look at all that room...

The cord, a 36mm x 3.5m hose, and a curved tube.

That's my CT for mobility. In this configuration, we use it to clean the house.
