CT sys acting like its clogged

Honestly, I think that would be a great mistake and you'll be greatly missing out. The CT(L)-SYS can be used for so many applications where a regular dust extractor is only in your way - it's just so much more than the filter bag that clogs rather easily from "mineral" dust.

It's my most used dust extractor for a reason.

Kind regards,
Oliver

My thinking also.  At first, I thought the CT SYS was just a novelty in a nice package.  Now I find uses for it everywhere and for all but the major tasks, it has become my most used vac/extractor.

Oh that's interesting.  I kinda thought the CT SYS would be most useful for kind of job side cleanup - especially with it hanging from the shoulder strap.  I am only a hobbiest, well mostly a hack so I don't really need any of these tools.  Lately I've found myself buying more and more items (too many really) from the recon sale because "I could probably use that in the future for something."

My wife is starting to notice that the stack of systainers is growing.  I think it might be hard to hide the CT SYS from her.  On the bright side, I just saved myself $300 [big grin].

There is a Makita backpack vac for that, but I do wish the CTSYS was cordless.

It would be hard to hide in your stack with those distinctive black stripes.

CTL SYS works nicely with a small cyclone.

The smaller the bag the more useful a cyclone. Got a pic of that set up?

It's a vintage clearvue cyclone that I salvaged from a no longer needed airbed dryer I once built (to extract the powdered product from the airstream that carried it away, worked nicely to reduce the product loss that we had prior to adding it), already came with the 50mm ports that conveniently fit the festool hoses. Not optically pleasing, but it was basically free (sans the connector between the CT and the cyclone).

The cyclone itself is an early model of the ClearVue Mini with the Bill Pentz design.
Demo of the current version:

Mine looks worn and shabby but has the same extraction properties as the current version in the video, as long as I empty the bin (so it won't overflow) basically nothing reaches the vac. I can highly recomment that model (and no, I don't get anything out of doing that).

I just bought the CT SYS that came up again on the recon site.  I'll just tell my wife that I was peer pressured into making the purchase  [big grin].

I just opened up the reconditioned CT SYS.  My jaw literally dropped when I saw I got the new smooth hose.  I was super excited and happy.  It sure looks like I got a brand new CT SYS - although the manufactured date is 2/2017 it doesn't look like it's been run at all.
