I have a 26 with the boom installed and i am using the floor support arms. These things get in the way and seem to be a magnet for bumping into all sorts of other things. So has anyone added a weight to the bottom to the vac and do away with the support arms. Ma-bee like a 1 inch thick or larger steel plate as big a possible. I think I can get 60 lbs of 1 inch plate with a little water jetting. 1.5 SQ ft.

I have 2 CT22's with boom arms and I have never installed the floor supports.  I've never had an issue moving the vacuum by pulling the hose.  I would think the CT26 would be just as stable.  I have a CT26, but it doesn't have a boom arm.  I use it for working around the house or outdoors.

[member=48208]onevw[/member] I had the exact same thought - I have the CT36, and was pondering some sort of ballast to prevent it from tipping; I've managed to have it come crashing down twice already.

I was considering sandbags but steel plate is probably better.

Wow, I haven't had any tipping issues with my CT22s, but I do have a few systainers on top of my vacuums at all times.  I'm wondering if adding a few systainers with tools in them might help prevent tipping.

hello

Steel or lead would work, what we need to know is how much weight we need.

I have the boom attached to a 36 and never installed the supports.  If the boom was backwards (towards the back of the vac) it becomes a little tippy, but it has never tipped over.  About a month ago I put the workcenter on top of the vac and now its even more stable and useful.

I have been using a CT22 with boom arm and no outriggers or other stabilization for several years with no tipping issues.

This is in a relatively static workshop location for hobbiest use with TS-75, sanders, domino and routers.
