This! The bloody labradors got to the buckets of my DD unit a few months ago rendering it useless. I'm filling a 36L bag in under 2 weeks lately so thought it high time to fix the setup. I was originally hoping to order the festool box from Onieda and do it that way but posting international is just too much like hard work for most tool companies in America it seems!
After that idea fizzled out, I raided some scrap form ply left over from a recent project and made myself a plate that would sit atop the CT36. Then made a box for that. Only has a 19L capacity but I was limited to the sizes of ply I had on hand as I didn't want to spend much on this project as I need to buy some more festool rails soon.
The inside seams are siliconed up and the lid has a rabbet around the edge to house some foam rubber stripping to ensure the lid seals tight. The only things I needed to buy were the 4 clasps for the lid and the foam rubber strip. $22 later and I've got my own DD Deluxe that is somewhat more labrador proof than my last one!
And just before anyone asks... the right angle adaptors on each end of the main hose are anti-static and the hose has metal reinforcement that has been exposed on each end to make contact with the adaptors. I didn't bother joining the connection between the adaptor and the hose to the tool as I don't have a 36mm AS hose, the standard one straight into the CT36 hasn't failed me yet. The only time thw green hose comes out to play is when the TS or trimmer is in use.
