Have had my CT36 for a couple of years, always worked great.  Today, the auto start function stopped working.  The vac works fine in manual, and there is power to the outlet on the vac.  Any suggestions to fix this?

Thanks,

Len

In case the 'couple of years' is below 3 (so you still have warranty on it): send it in for service all included, sounds like the electronics board broke.

In case it's older (so no free service) you could order the board as a spare part and install it yourself (or have someone local who knows a bit about electricity do it for you) for a cheaper repair (as you'll at minimum skip paying for two-way freight).

Try pulling the switch and cleaning it. I had one that got dust in it and just needed a cleaning.

I also had a different one I thought had a problem , but it turned out the recptacle the vac was plugged into had a buss fracture that caused it to stop working when it heated up.

Thanks guys for the replies.  The auto start function began to work again, no apparent cause.  Go figure.  [blink]
