Ct36AC Made more useful?

Background: Ok so I had a ct48 I recently sold for 650 because it clogged every 10 minutes while running my planex. I do drywall, painting and woodwork for a living so alot of sanding sawing and...planex-ing. Can I make this a single use vac? Or should I get a midi/26? Money is not an issue, business does great. Space and storage is a huge issue. Currently saving to buy a house.

Question #1 : So I have 2 planes hoses. Is there an adapter that can fit two of the large planeX hoses together? If so, is there a power cord that is long enough to match the length of two hoses? It would be great to not have to move the VAC half as much. Would a hose that long impede airflow?

Question #2: Swapping out a filter is no big deal. Would you suggest a Midi or 26 for sanding dust and track saw chips? Is there any reason to justify the purchase other then the added portability?

I use the 36AC for everything. I do have 5 other CT's but the AC gets used when it's not on the Planex.

To extend the cord just get a 15' or so 16 gauge cord with NEMA 1-15 plug and receptacle.

There is this connector, not sure if it will work.

I believe the new hoses plug together end,  get a regular 36 mm tool cuff and a new 36 mm vacuum cuff. They should pug in end to end. Check with Festool or a supplier to verify this.

You'll end up with a Midi soon enough.

I have a 36 and a 36AC. I swap the AC to a "normal" 36 by swapping the filter and bag when I'm not doing any drywalling. If you are swapping frequently, it is useful to have two from the standpoint of wood chips having a tendency to clog up the filter on the AC, primarily because of using the open bag vs. the closed fleece bag and the chips being able to enter in between the pleats.

We have CTM 26 AC’s which also get used for everything.
I use the AC standard PTFE filter, and disposable open poly bag for dry wall, brick and cement dust, with AC switched on.
Then for wood and MDF etc, I use the standard CT 26 filter, and filter bags, and AC switched off.
This works very well and gives me options for most dust types, which was the main reason for getting AC models.
Obviously the same will work for a 36 or 48.

There’s a few ways, you can buy or make up after market fittings, some plastic plumbing fittings can be useful.

Personally I wouldn’t fancy really long hoses, there will be suction loss so I prefer shorter hoses, I have a short hose for my Kapex and there’s a noticeable improvement over the standard length.
Dry wall dust might not be too much of an issue though with a longer hose but, I’d only lengthen the hose if I really had too. Better to move the extractor on a shorter hose (in my opinion).
