Hi,
Anyone ever try creating a custom MFT top at 64mm spacing instead of 96mm.  I got Woodrave's MFT Template Jig to create a custom top for a big workbench and I think I might give it a try.  Every once so often I find the holes are not in the right spot for the clamps to reach the perfect spot on my work piece.
Thanks,
Imran

You can create a grid at whatever matrix you want.  Odd to hear that the Festool accessories don't cover the gamut for you.  They are designed to work for the grid and your comment is the first I've heard regarding this.  Are you using other accessories?

I hear what you are saying about sometimes the holes are a wee bit too far away for proper clamping. I have run into it once or twice but always found another way to handle it. I think by making the holes closer together you might introduce unforeseen and unpredicted items as a result. The biggest thing in the back of my mind would be structural integrity of the MDF with ⅓ + more holes in it.

I fixed most of my MFT issues by getting some different style clamps with plates and started using more cowls to hold down wider pieces. YMMV

Cheers. Bryan.

If you use the Woodrave router base and pegboard, aren't you going to get imperial spacing?  3 inch instead of 75mm.  4 inch instead of 96mm?
