Here we are talking about a 118" rail. Now, I thought a rail that long would certainly droop too much. But I was wrong! This table configuration is not in place right now so I cannot readily measure, but as I recall you only need to raise the rail a few (several?) inches to get the entire length up off the material. Just hang a string down from the ceiling...
It will overhang the table, but I have had no problems. I usually have to make layout lines and clamp the one end of the rail, but no big deal. The repeatability is not there because of the overhang, but it doesn't bother me. http://www.briangray.net/projectdetail.cfm?ProjectID=32
