each one would do 10 cuts. 

That doesn't seem right.  I went through 40+ cuts of similar distance and in 4 inch thick douglas fir with a single blade.  Did you have the orbiting/oscillating setting so you had a small amount of blade traveling front to back?  If not, I found the chips didn't clear, the cutting slowed a lot, the blade overheated and went dull quite quickly.  A little bit of orbit travel let chips clear and relieved all those problems.

TIM,  the wood had some sap in it I think that was clinging to the blade.  the blades were still very sharp but the small amount of stickeness; was starting to hang it up a little.  so a new blade was no big deal to me.  I will clean them off with orange cleaner and they will be just like new.  did not want to take a chance.
