I have had my CXS 18 for a bit now and there are a few things that need improved. I feel we could use a gen 2. The biggest issue for me is the trigger. It often times will pinch my finger. This is not a pleasant experience. This is not an issue with any other drill/driver I have used. Another thing that is an issue is chuck runout. I get that the removable nature of the chucks adds more possibility of runout. I don't know if it is the nature of Fast Fix or just my unit but the Jacobs style chuck and Centrotec chucks have a good bit of runout. An arguably unacceptable amount for precision drilling. My M12 Installation driver felt like it had less runout than the CXS 18. One of the alleged features of Centrotec is the lower runout when compared to 1/4 inch hex and I wasn't impressed. I have also heard some complaints about the noise signature of the CXS 18. I wont say it is bad or good but if Festool can fix whatever the noise complaints were then great. I also wouldn't mind having the tool benefit from the TBX batteries. Festool isn't known for having the most powerful drill/drivers but if they are closer to the competition in the torque numbers, that wouldn't be a bad thing. Of course I would only want this if it doesn't compromise the rest of the user experience.

I have near zero runout with the Centrotec chuck(s) on my CXS 18; by comparison the runout on my M12 Installation Driver is massive.

I've heard people complain of a pinched finger on the M12 as well, it's never been an issue for me.

I'm extremely happy with the CXS 18 I bought recently, and find it a really tight drill.

I'm so impressed with it I'm now thinking of getting the CSX 12 as well.

I got a CXS 18 today and im having a huge problem> The centrotech with a magnetic holder and a drill bit has a small wobble when spining but im ok with it as you have 3 points ( 3 attachments ) and the wobble is super small.... howerver the jacob chuck with a drill has a huge wobble and im not ok with that, i tried 8 different drills they all wobble ive put the drills in my dewalt - no wobble
I have a cheap parkside - minimal wobble. When drilling i feel my hand wobbling a bit, when trying to drill something precise it makes me nuts and it buggs my brain. Paying this much for a machine should work with minimal wobble tolerance and my "spare change" parkside has less wobble... unacceptable.
Everything else is amazing ! Feels good in the hand, light , well built but that wobble killed my hype!

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to read about your situation. You should consider taking advantage of the Festool return policy, and if you decide to try another one, hopefully it will be thru a local brick and mortar dealer and you can test it in person.

Yes, first thing on Monday morning. Ive spoken to a friend that has TXC 18 and i went to visit, he has two and both have a slight hard to tell wobble, but nothing compared to mine. I used a 10’ drill largest it can fit and the wobble is even bigger on mine , then tried 35’ for drilling hinge holes and it runs like crazy and the hinge fits loose, by my standards ( i know that the two screws hold it in place, but i prefer a snug fit) i would change the whole door for the client as im giving a 10 year warranty and i dont like going to a client after one year to repair stuff so i preder to so it right the first time. I have 15 days to return it ( no questions asked) so i would return and buy a new one 10 times if it takes 😂
Cheers!

Ps: Ive never used a machine that feels so good and natural in the hand!
