CXS dilemma

Had the CSX and wanted to love it, but like the poster above, it just doesn't spin fast enough to do any amount of drilling.  And I'm not speaking of trying to do 3/4" spade bits.  Most any drilling during kitchen cab installs benefit from a higher speed - whats the CSX max?  400rpm?

1300 rpm in 2nd gear. But here these smaller 10.8v drills are mostly seen a drivers for screws, because they simply lack the power for drilling more than 8 mm bits.

I just remember it didn't seem fully up to the task as I expected, but probably closer to the point, there was no point keeping it AND my C12; and the C12 is much more of a tool than the CSX.

Pretty much two different target uses.  The CXS handles most of my small needs and tight spaces. When the need gets tougher, I go to my T18 or PDC.

No issue if you only want one drill, but the benefit of being able to do about 80% of my screwing and light drilling with a drill that is so light and fits in my hand like a glove... well....Simply love it! Especially when dealing with very small screws like for hinges on decorative jewelry boxes or humidors that I make frequently.

It was great screwing the risers in place. I should have tried the Zobo bits but in this particular spot I knew there was metal flashing underneath.  My 1st Choice was a C12 but the last one sold before I committed. I think this drill is perfect for cabinet makers while putting on hardware.

I just spent three weeks using my CXS doing custom desk building and hardware fitting work and I never even thought about reaching for my T-18.  The CXS is the "Little Engine that can" do over 90% of the work in my furniture building shop.  The CXS is one of the tools that I would immediately replace if I displaced it or damaged it somehow, I find it indispensable.

Is the new CXS with the 2.6 amp batteries and the 10mm chuck any more powerful than the older version,  are the outputs the same?
