Hmm maybe im just being too fussy then, although i understand what alex was saying, if you take the bits out of the drill and look into the shaft and pull the trigger you can see the back of the shaft turning in an eccentric motion, ill ask the dealer to check another one they may be all the same.

Ha ha yeh sort off but the problem for me starts at the shaft coming from the motor it transfers the motion to every chuck even the right angle chuck causing the tip of the bit to wobble whilst rotating, im sure its fine when the bit is in contact but it bugs me, ill try rex in the morning see what they say.

Cus I didnt see the second part before when your remove the centrotec and just place the bit in on its own!  

That looks wobbly on its own im just going to check mine cus I dont think thats right!

This bit wobble is putting me off to be honest. I'm looking at getting this little guy and a big brother once the new models are out but I don't want to be paying a premium for something that's not running like it claims. A true straight chuck is going to make for cleaner holes and less can out on delicate screws. That's the whole idea behind centrotec as I understood it.

Hi I'm new to FOG but have been a festool guy for few years.
I've had a CXS now for a month or so and think it's a great little drill, does alot more than you think for such a lightweight. It's excellent for kitchen fitting. Also got a c15 2 weeks ago and wow very impressed. A bit disappointted though I got a flyer from festool saying they uprading to 3ah batterries and charge indicator.

I never heard about the 3ah batteries but that don't concern me as i find the C15 more than enough power as it is.  What do you mean about charge indicator ?  Is it going to be the lights on the battery ?

No the lights are on the actual drill and they tell you how much pwer is left in the battery.

I don't give anyone a hard time, except my useless labourer, who by the way forced a normal hex flat bit into my concentric chuck [mad] [crying]

just to say i rang festool technical today and one of the engineers had a cxs in his hand at the time we were on the phone, he said he thought the eccentric motion mine has seems to be on all festool drills due to tolerances for fitting attachments, he said if i were to send it back chances are they would find no fault, im not so sure but im gonna have to take his word for it as from jmbs video his seems to be the same.

all in all a great little tool put some time in with it today and i really like it, ill be trying it on a kitchen install tmrw and will be able to really test it.

The new festool batteries are going to have battery indicators so you know how much charge is left in the battery like the milwuakee batteries!   It's what Im waiting for!

Well I thought you would of known about it any anyway!  The indicator is on the back of the batterie!

The rep i have just now is very good but not familliar with Festool at all.  The last guy used to keep me up to date with all thing Festool.  I am dependant on you guys to keep me up to speed now  [smile]

got mine yesterday, after the buyer of my bosch sander had noticed my little bosch 10.8v driver and angle driver, he asked for a price for the lot. so suddenly i was without a small driver!
so with that money and a little more i got the CXS, it was the only one in the store and the angle chuck was stolen!
they will call me when it gets in.

anyway i like the "little" bugger, same voltage as my Bosch, but it can handle bigger screws and also drill aswell!

i noticed the bit wobble aswell, if you hold the bit against your hand and let it turn, the drill will wobble alot. though during actual drilling/driving i didn't notice any.

but has anyone else noticed a bad smell of warm motor oil coming from it when it runs? really smells bad

I love festool but not that much that I go round smelling all my tools  [tongue] [poke]

Well I never smelt anything when I had a Demo one in my hand and played around with it but all I did was drill air didnt drive a screw in with it so might be different.

my t15 had a horrible oil smell after repair but it has gone away with use

Hey meatman, no i kept the original drill, although it does seem to have a very slight eccentric rotation, it drills and drives with great precision, i love it! I had been back and forth with my dealer and a festool engineer, the guy at festool had a couple in the shop whilst we was on the phone and he said his were exactly the same, im very happy with the purchase it seems to last longer after a few charges.

Its a T15 and yes maybe I did use it to stir one bucket load of plaster but thats IT  I decided to get the power drill out for the rest  [tongue].  I use my tools but I do look after them best I can and unfortunately I can not avoid getting them a little dirty  [mad]
