You don't really need it. The right angle attachment can get in tight as does the standard "chuck".

Sounds exactly like something a sales weasel would say when he doesn't have the product a customer is looking for. Who are you to say what someone needs or doesn't.
Besides, botter was not asking about a right angle chuck. Even so your info is waaaay off base as the right angle and even the CXS standard and centrotec chucks are at least DOUBLE the centerline distance to the bit center than that of the eccentric chuck that fits the papa bear sized drills.
Sometimes that eccentric chuck makes all the difference - like with the wall cabinet suspension system the Italian cabinet makers seem to favor. While the std CXS gets close, it's still not really good enough for some operations.
I'll bet the eccentric chuck wasn't/isn't a big seller here in NA or elsewhere for that matter, so I'm not surprised it wasn't part of the x.XS design mandate.
