Confession, I have a bit of a drill problem.  At this count I have the Festool T15.3, all the Bosch 12V ones, a Panasonic 15.6V NiMh, a Panasonic impact driver, and three corded drills.  I wasn't even going to look at the CXS and then in a moment of weakness this weekend I picked up one at tried it.  As expected, it's in a different class than the Bosch units.  I use the Bosch PS41 and PS21 all the time, like 98% of my drill usage.  Now I have to buy yet another drill  ;D

I sympathize my friend.

I have about somewhere around 10 drills.
C12, TDK12 x 2, about 7 Ryobi drills of various flavors, and my compact is a Bosch PS31.
I would replace the PS31 in a heartbeat with the CXS, but frankly the PS31 is just the right size for my kids to use on little projects.  Dilemmas dilemmas...

No worries you are among friends.

I have lost count on my drills, pulling from memory, it's around 27. This includes drills, drivers, impact drivers. Currently I am in the process of replacing older tools with Festool and downsizing the collection. As it stands this is what I have in the tool shed. Even with this collection I am looking forward to the C15 when is gets released in NA.

Jesus, and I thought I had a lot of drills  [poke]

Before I got my CXS I used mostly big and clunky 18V machines. Now I use the CXS for pretty much everything, the few cases I don't use it I grab my DeWalt 18V impact driver (or a chorded screwgun for putting up drywall). The CXS is way more powerful than you would expect from just looking at it.

...but how many bits do you have?

Yeah, my collection is excessive. Most of these drills have a purpose and get used regularly. The ones that don't are going bye-bye in the next couple of months. I used to have 5 dedicated work spaces/shops that are/were fully equipped with various tools. I am downsizing to two work spaces (machine shop and woodshop). I started with dewalt and have kept the 18.0's running. I think I have replaced three motors on those guys. Now the batteries are starting to go and they are expenssive to replace so I am transitioning to festool and calling it good. I will probably keep the impact drivers and some of the specialty drivers and be done with it.

Incidentally I found five more drivers/drills in my collection

7.2 Dewalt screwdriver 3x
28.0 Li-Ion Milwaukee impact wrench (does this count)
Senco drywall screw gun

As far as bits go, more than my fair share. proportionally as many as I have drivers. But still not enough. Waiting for the Centrotec kit to come out and then I will be a happy camper. It's such a tease that Festool gives you a couple of bits with the drills and then leaves you hanging.

Is the Centrotec kit (SYS 1 CE-SORT) NAINA, or are you talking about some new Centrotec kit that hasn't been released in Europe yet?

He's referring to the set rumored to be released here in the States in the (fingers crossed) not so distance future.

No Dilemma at all...the way I see it is you said kids, plural!!!  That means you need more than one compact drill.  [cool]

All these have been replaced by the cxs.  What a great little drill, put it through some serious work last week and found myself thinking "why did it take me so long to buy this thing?"

Gonna Craigslist the ridgids and the makita, the impact ps21 might come in handy so ill hold on to them

Also own the c12.  I'm done buying crap drills.

Hah, I only just got the T12 and I still want one of these beauties. I fondle it often at my local dealer  [big grin]

Besides, I don't have nearly as many drills as you lot. One corded Skil thing, a broken Makita, an angle drill and the T12.

I picked up the CSX Thurs.  Sweet drill.  Festool needs some impact drills and I could get rid of the Bosch

I don't think Festool will make an impact driver (there is a whole thread about this), though Protool does make them:
http://www.protool.de/Produkte/Seiten/Produktdetailansicht.aspx?pid=636485&name=Akku-Schlagschrauber-QuaDrive-IWC-18-2-TEC-LI
(they have a 14.4V model as well)

Btw does anybody know if Protool batteries are compatable with Festool? There are no Protool dealers around here, so I've never had a chance to check this for myself.

I assume Protool batteries are compatible with Festool drills.

I have a Protool lite that works with my Festool batteries...  I assume the reverse would work as well.

I picked up a T15+3 about a month ago, and liked it so much I ordered a CSX on Thursday.  I've been using a pair of Ridgid 12v drills for my furniture making, but I think the right angle attachment for the CSX will be a treat.
It will be in addition to the two Ridgids, a corded Dewalt, an ancient corded Craftsman with an all-metal body I haven't been able to ruin in 30 years, and a half-dozen Ryobi 18v drills.
