Dealing with Paint dust in the shop

Thanks for your input Scott. I believe there will be a redesign in the future.

Anytime. I look forward to hearing how it evolves.

I would love to hear what you got and how it works for you.

Will do, will be spraying a kitchen in the next couple weeks and will be setting up in a home and let you know. It's not a small unit.

What recommendations would you give for spraying on a job site?  Talking about water borne, nothing solvent based. Spraying with a Fuji HVLP. Doors and already installed trim.

Was planning on removing the doors, building a rotator like tom's posted, and spraying in an isolated room of the house.

Build Clean, use it as a negative air machine.

Sheesh. I know this is the festool forum, but I was hoping for an answer that didn't result in me spending $1,000. That would be a good investment, but are their any other options?

Any respirator recommendations?

I was going to link them, darn.

I find this one comfortable (unless you're wearing glass, then go with a full mask);

I use this cartridge;

With this pre-filter;

Many thanks Tom!

Just to clarify, you're running the air mover in a doorway to exhaust the air out of the room, with filtered air coming in the room.

So for my scenario, it would be best for me to put a box fan in a window with a filter taped to it, blowing in.  Then foam insulation covering a doorway with a hole cut out down bottom for the air movers, with a filter on the inlet side.

Window or door open for air in, with a filter. Don't need a fan.

Air mover on the floor with a filter over the inlet. Get the stuff you're spraying as close as you can to the air mover.

Anyone have experience/knowledge of a Novair 2000?? Would this be acceptable for
Overspray dust?

[member=60532]Twoodman66[/member]  Never used one, but it should be fine.
Same principle as the Build Clean. About the same price.
Anything that filters, moves and exhausts the air out of the space you are working in is better than none. This can be as minimal as a fan with a filter in front of it to industrial air filters.
Just remember to exhaust out of the home. If you don't you have a big clean up and some unhappy folks.

In a recent bookcase install I used the Build Clean unit as an air cleaner. Worked well. It will get a good work out when I spray a kitchen in a couple weeks.

I wonder if it's possible to move too much air in an area where one is spraying?

Yes, definitely possible, but you would find it difficult to actually set up and spray with that much air flow and turbulence.
