Had an interesting and somewhat unsettling experience with the jigsaw today. Brand new, out of the box for the first time.... I had to notch a spot for a [shop] cabinet door in a 2x6. Halfway through the cut, the Dewalt blade came detached from the saw mid stroke. Although I was going plenty slow for the cut/wood/blade, I thought it had snapped - which it did not. I had figured it was a crappy seating of the T-shank, so I reread the manual and youtubed a video.... It was originally secured correctly.
Trying blade #2, I discovered something important. I dislike the tool. It spit the 2nd blade out and it drained a full battery on an 22" rip.
I will be returning the tool and trying either a Bosch or Carvex. I've never been so disappointed in a Dewalt product....
Thankfully, both my father-in-law (he was helping) and I were unharmed. SMH
