DF500 issue: Excessive vibration & heat

Translation:  Festool did not allow for a proper clearance and now making excuses. Hey, your shoes don't fit? No worries, all our shoes are like that! Never mind the blisters, just keep wearing them...

The bottom line is this: does the rubbing affect the performance of the machine in ANY way?

If not, "don't fix it if it ain't broke" would be my advice. I have observed the wear mark on mine for some time, and I simply spray some lubricant (PL) as a "cure." I was cutting some 300 mortises with it not too long ago, but the wear mark wasn't going away by itself.
