Hi,

I have a question and maybe someone can answer it.

I'm looking to purchase the festool Diamant cutting system DSC-AG 125 to cut tiles and make groves and so on.... that kit comes with the AG 125-14 D angle grinder with a fixed speed of 11'000 rpm.

There is an other kit Diamant grinding system DSG-AG 125 for sanding concrete and things like that. This kit comes with the angle grinder AG 125-14 DE with a variable speed from 3'500 to 11'000.

So the idea for me would be to buy the kit for grinding the concrete with the variable angle grinder and purchase only the extraction hood DCC-AG 125 of the DSC-AG 125 kit, so I will only have an angle grinder the variable speed one and the accessories of the two kits. But is the extraction hood compatible with the variable speed angle grinder?....

The grinder with the fixed speed is called AG 125-14 D and the variable speed one AG 125-14 DE, so only with an E at the end. Does any one know if it's exactly the same body, holes and things like that and will my idea work.

Thanks a lot if anyone has an idea about compatibility...

Alex

I do have the Protool DSG-AGP 125 with the AG 125-14 DE grinder. The Festool version now is the same model.
I was also thinking about buying the separate hood for the DSC but only it costs €181 incl. VAT. And that is way to much money for the hood. But a new Festool DSC only costs €300 incl. VAT.
Because the grinder of both machines is the same. And the DE version of the grinder has the variable speed control.
I'm thinking of buying the DSC as a whole including the separate T-Loc systainer. That way I don't have to change the hood or dust cover.

I also changed the cable of the DSG with an internal Plug-it, so I can use Plug-it cords.
On the EKAT I discovered that there once was an EQ version of the grinder and the body ends suits the Plug-it connectors.

Hi,

yes you are right about the price of the various items in the DSC-AG 125 kit, may not be so interesting to buy them individually:

Beware Swiss prices... everything is more expensive here.... as with many things they like to make us pay premium price for everything.

DSC hood : 258 CHF
blade all premium: 115 CHF
Systainer 4 TL: 103 CHF

so that makes it 476 CHF to buy the accessories/blade/sys 4 only and the price of the DSC-AG 125 kit as a whole is 482.- CHF !!!! And there is the angle grinder in it.

Well I guess it means I will get both kits at the end.

Thanks for your valuable input.

Alex

I've got them both, I'll have a look when the sun comes up.

Thanks Kev if you can look closely at both angle grinders to spot any difference. Even if it's not the most money efficient way to buy the accessories only. It still interesting to know if we can use either angle grinder with all the accessories.

I vaguely remember going through the same thinking at the time [smile]
