Differences between old and new midi extractors

Hi guys
I've just registered for the forum but been reading it for a little while.  I've also only owned festools for about a year or so.

Over here in the uk the old midi extractors are been slowly replaced by new ones.  As far as I can see the new one has a tloc as well as the 4 tabs to lock a sustainer on top.  Are there any other differences.  Possibly the hose as its listed as 32/27 where the old one is just listed as 27 diameter?  I have a hose from an old midi with an elbow on the end that connects it to the extractor, is this the same fitting for the new one?

I hope this is posted in the right place.  I tried searching the forum but couldn't see the answer anywhere else.

Thanks

Mark

Mark,

As far as I know, the only differences are as you mention: the T-loc connection, and the new, tapered, 32-27mm hose. The port that the hose connects into at the vac is the same, so you could use an older hose with the newer vac if you wanted.

Thanks Jonathan.  Not sure the differences justify the higher price in that case

I recently bought CT Midi and also had a chance to choose between standard and T-loc version.
Decided for standard (older) version which was 80€ cheaper than new one. It doesn't make a difference to me. I don't need t-loc on CT.

I'm struggling to think of a reason why anyone needs a t-loc on their midi, and therefore the reason to pay more and buy one
