I installed this today.  It went in a new house that the customer just closed on this week.  She has yet to buy the tv but I think when she finally gets it it will tie the whole thing together nicely.  The finish matches the kitchen cabinets that are at the opposite end of the room.  I used Mohawk's wb lacquer custom tinted.  I plan on picking up some of Target Coatings wb white base for my next painted project.  While the Mohawk went down nicely it didn't have the hiding power that the Target would.

i second that Chris, sell them on a nice mantle and keep the green coming in, we might have some new dark blue+green toys coming onto the market soon

Thanks guys.  The customer is happy so that's what counts.  Before I even think about a mantle I have a kitchen's worth of pull out shelves to do for her and a garage floor epoxy to lay down.  Oh yeah, garage cabinets as well.  I'll be busy over there for awhile.

Sure looks nice.

Next time though try to hide the wire for the upper cabinet lights. That wire just takes the beauty away and could have been avoided.

I'm not the OP here, but I think you might have overlooked the possibility that this is not completely 'finished'. Additionally the OP stated that this unit is for a TV (presumably with DVD/sat/cable box etc. going in the cabinet below with the glass doors). If so, once everything is in place the wire (along with a lot of others) won't be seen.

You're right, it's not finished yet.  Once the tv is in there that stuff won't be seen.  Additionally I'm making u-shaped channel that will hide the cord.  It will be painted the same color as the walls so when it's all said and done the cord will be invisible.
