I tried searching but it want working. I know festool sells a tool insert im more interested in seeing what other FOGers have custom made for their one do all insert chisels, hammer, pliers, drill, etc. not for individual specialized inserts for sandpaper, router bits etc.

I have this one saved from thingiverse. Looks well thought-out. Modular and plenty of flexibility in terms of tool specific usage. No reason you couldn't bring the files into a Sketchup for creating templates from wood. Or a 3D printing service such as Shapeways - kinda pricey...if you're looking for a new hobby, I've been happy with the Artillery Sidewinder X1v4

Thanks guys, I had seen that one sys thread before and it seemed like a lot was specialized ie. one sys for just nail guns type stuff, etc. I will go back through but was looking for ideas more like the thingaverse one.  I currently use the large bottom rolling dewalt tough system 2 as my main go to for bringing all the essential misc. hand tools and then have additional small TS boxes that are specialized for different tasks. Honestly I dont think I can get away from the TS boxes as they offer more room.  I carry a pretty big range of stuff in the one box its more of a "handyman" type box. A little of everything so its hard to fit everything as is. no way I could fit everything in one sys unless it was the xxl and that thing is just funky.

eventually I think I will build a mftc like the one timothy designed but re designed for use with the TS. I need pull outs for the TS since the constant stacking and shuffle drives me nuts. It kind of sucks since I keep my festool in the sys and everything else in the TS. However, most of my festool stays put and usually its just my ct and a couple sanders for mobile work.

I just ordered a co2 laser so the organizer seems like a good first project for it. Still havent gotten a 3d printer yet.

I made my own a while back using Shaper Origin, uploaded here for reference. As you come with your own tools, the organization will be different, but I hope it can give you a base to start from.

Yes thats seems to be the main issue everyone kind of has their own set of tools that varies from person to person.  So everyone is different.  What I am interested in yours is the 1/4" plywood.  I was leaning towards using 1/4 or even 1/8 ply for the weight reduction. Seems most tend to go with 1/2"  With the laser I should be able to finger joint/tab all the dividers to keep it rigid/sturdy  Any issues with the 1/4" Im also thinking I would divide the insert into 2 or 3 individual boxes instead of 1 big unit.

1/2'' is an overkill, as 1/4'' is solid enough for enclosure parts. I have use 1/8'' for specific parts (separators), but it would flex under load.

Im also thinking I would divide the insert into 2 or 3 individual boxes instead of 1 big unit.
This is a great idea, it reminds me this project where only 1/3 of the systainer is used by the insert.

Yes that last photo with the shaper origin is kind of what I was thinking.  Only without the shaper and multiple boxes instead but I do carry the dewalt 18 brad nailer and 4.5" saw in there all the time and those two items take up considerable space.  I figured I would try and group the tools according to task for each section so each section can just be pulled out as needed. Im thinking smaller lighter trays combined with tabs and cnc finger joints should do the job even with 1/8. Its actually pretty amazing how strong those boxes can be with such thin material when they have dividers and partitions.  Ill post photos with my trails but its going to be a bit still waiting on the laser and then need to learn some software not to mention getting everything hooked up and adjusted.

each has their pluses and minuses. The laser will get you square corners, finer more detailed cuts, less fuzzy edges and ability to mark/label
