I know there are quite a few threads of DIY sysports but I was hoping to get a thread specifically for tried/recommended drawer slides. What is the best drawer slide you've found for sysports. Full extension 16". Quality vs. price or other thoughts.

Thanks!

I think full extension and push to open would be best so that the drawers don't open by themselves when you move the cart around.

Those are a GREAT price!

I think these are their push-to-open equivalent:

Perhaps I measured incorrectly but I thought that I would use an 18" glide and ordered quite a few of these 18" Slides from WWH on Amazon and have already cut my parts to size and am currently assembling.  The systainer is 12" deep and with the lid flipped open enough to stay open and the t-loc latch rotated I thought 16" might work but went with 18" to be sure.  I don't see how it would be possible to use a 14" glide and still have room to keep the lid open.  I probably won't be done with building my first until this weekend so perhaps then I will find that the glides I am using are too long.

In regards to the quality of the glides I just mentioned I have used them before and they have held up very well and I have no concern about them holding a systainer or two although my plan is only one per shelf which I would assume is what everyone else does as well.

I have just ordered a lot of 10 x 16" push to open from FineSlides on eBay. I get them this weekend and will let you know how they make out. The price was 80.00 for the lot of them so the price was right for full extension, push to open. Hope they hold out.

Cheers. Bryan.

I put together one of the units tonight and did a little testing.  18" is longer than needed, I would have been happy with 16" glides and I think you could get away with 14" glides as well but I think 12" would be too short if you wanted the lid to stay open by itself.  The glides I purchased do not come out the full 18" but it was within .5 inches but my measurement still seemed to indicate 12" would be too short.

14" glides work fine as long as they are full extension.  I have two "Chaos" cabinets and a double sided MFT base using 14" glides. No problems.

Thanks for the all the replies.
It looks like I'll be going with the 400mm (15.75") slides from CS Hardware
At $46 ($38.60 + ~$8 S&H) for 10 pairs of slides, that is a hard deal to beat.
I want to use 400mm slides because my systainers are going to doubled up sideways on the shelves, the same as they sit on a maxi.
I'd go with 14" if they were facing out.

The nice thing about the longer slides is that you can store stuff behind the Systainer, like accessories.

I am laying out a sysport of my own, and am having a brain cramp.  I don't have my installation sheet handy, is the allocation for the slides a 1/2" from each cabinet side or 1/2" overall?

I know this thread is a bit stale, but was wondering if anybody has experience with Shop Fox drawer slides.  They make a 16" Push-to-Open Slide for $7.95 per pair.  That's $2.55/pair cheaper than the G-Slide 16"/400mm equivalent.  They don't specifically state full extension (I've emailed Grizzly to clarify), but otherwise look like a good option.  Anybody have an opinion on Shop Fox drawer slides?
