Just curious.  There is a roadshow in my area this weekend I am going to.  I wonder if it would be a better time to buy then....

Thanks.

Not in N America, no.

The Road Show is a traveling showroom. You can learn about tools, ask questions etc. Festool itself is not selling anything, any purchase you may make is through the dealer where the event is held.

If it's close, I would go, even if you don't plan to buy anything, it's just a fun event!

You don't get better prices on Festool products, but the one I went to had some nice promo stuff.

It's the other way around, you'll find more reasons to drain your wallet, on things you never contemplated, with all the tools being demo'd.  [big grin]

But if you want a good demo or value some tips and tricks on the tools you already have, it's worth a trip.

Woodcraft of Sacramento? No festool deals but there's usually some swag if you get there early plus their regular monthly sale items inside. If that's the place there's also a sawstop event at 2 following festool. I enjoy going just to check stuff out.

Hi!

Since I consider an educated decision a better buy, I'd answer your question with yes.

See, I have (sadly, still) no idea about Festool dealers in the US - what they have on display, if many of them have "test centers" and so on.

Here in Germany there are many dealers but only few who actually offer/can offer to test a tool right on the spot.

Now when the roadshow is around you basically get - more or less, it depends a little on the roadshow's theme - the full experience: Woodworking, drywalling, sanding ...

When I went two years ago, I decided that DWC and PDC where perfect tools for me. I got to play with a lot of other stuff, too and the Festool staff was very well educated about the tools they were showcasing.

You get the chance to "talk tools" and meet cool people. Get ideas... But then again you will also meet at least one drivelling idiot, like the guy that was basically ruining my DWC experience by trying to tell us (the Festool guy and me) how he is so much faster than the auto-feed DWC... But that's the game.  [big grin]

So yeah, after visiting the roadshow you make better buys ;)

Kind regards,
Oliver
