Does Festool make a wider hose that will fit the CT 15?

good stuff guys, appreciate all the insights!

let me ask, if i were to simply attach a Ridgid hose to the vac would that negate the HEPA rating?

in other words, is there something special with a Festool-branded hose that enables the machine to be fully HEPA sealed? or is the hose interchangeable?

I think it's important to point out that Alex's example of treating the CT ruggedly is with switching out to the sponge filter.  Your CT's HEPA rating is only due to the original HEPA filter cartridge only.  Puncturing that or switching out to a sponge negates the rating regardless of which hose you use.

i don't plan on touching the filter. i'm just curious if, by using a hose mfg by someone other than Festool (Ridgid, Bosch), i am negating the HEPA as well?

or is the hose not included/tested/rated anyway?

Well, I had to because I was sucking up water. With the dry filter in it you can suck up just as much bad stuff as you want, as long as it's not liquid. And using a vacuum bag with that, your vac itself stays a lot cleaner.

I've never heard of a HEPA rating for wet filters.

Why worry. Water is a filter by itself. I binds the dust particles like no man made filter does.

is that true with lead? i don't know. any rrp professionals here?

at any rate, back to the hose question. what would be the reason for buying the $100+ Festool branded hose in lieu of the $20 Ridgid one? especially for my situation?

thanks!

i think the one that comes with the unit is 27/32? it's not wide enough to pick up some larger debris (i use my CT 15 a bit like a Shop Vac).

thanks.
I use the 36mm hose on it with no issues. It's permanent attached to my Kapex.

How can you be surprised the wet filter isn't Hepa? It's obvious by just looking at it.

Lead in pure form is heavy. It sinks in water.
