Does Festool make the Zobo forstner bits in house or contract them out?

Yes, Zobo is a sister company of Festool and owned by TTS.

As someone who is just getting into Festool, I'm trying to understand what makes these bits so special and/or good?  Can someone give a quick breakdown of why someone would want these over some other manufacturer?

• interchangeable starting tips or twist drills
• Centrotec system

That's 3 reasons off the top of my head.
