Does New CT Midi work with hose mounted Bluetooth module?

Can anyone advise if my new 2020 model CT Midi, which has Bluetooth module for use with cordless tools, will also connect to the hose- mounted Bluetooth module?

The website states the hose adaptor is only compatible with CT26 and CT36.

The guys at Total Tools couldn’t tell me and didn’t have Bluetooth module to test.

I logged a query on Festool website but no answer....

Yes the BT hose module also works on the new CTL Midi II.
I use it myself and it's a relief! Can't live without it anymore.

I can confirm that it does indeed work. I bought the remote with the CT Mini, and use it all the time.

Awesome. Thanks for the quick reply folks.

Hi,

  Welcome to the forum.  [smile]

Glad you were able to get the answer here.

If it puts your mind at ease, the reason for the inaccuracy is the bluetooth module for the hose was released before the CT Midi II was released.  So at the time it was only compatible with the CT26-48.  It looks like they forgot to update the specifics after the new Midi was released.

This reminds me of one thought, does anyone dear to guess when a whole new series of CT 26-48 is announced?
Look at what the new Mini/Midi has, that the older ones (CT 26-48) miss:
Integrated Bluetooth, exchanging filter from the outside, manual cleaning lever also from the outside, blower port for use as a blower. See this apart from models with AutoClean. The new M class Midi also recognises the hose connected via a RFID chip in the hose (my hose has too, but not sure if my L class has the receiver for the RFID chip)

I have got a different question about the new midi 2.

Can the new midi 2 be used without a bag fitted just relying on the main filter to capture dust and debris?

Can any body help?

Cheers John

Yes it can be used without a bag. For instance for wet vac.

I wouldn’t do it, unless:
You are sure you’re only, and only using it for course grain say ie from a planer or other “clean” large particles.
So in short, no. The filter will clog. That’s the purpose of using a bag, the bag is pre-filtering before the main and protective filter.

For water pick up, as CeeJay says, there is a special filter for that. And of course no bag in this instance.

I’ve walked away from three possible buys of pre-owned CT26/36 because I noticed they had been used without a bag. With steep used prices on Festool, even on the dust collectors which most have seen heavy use, adding broken parts, new filter, new hose, new connectors - the price of a new dust collector seems often the Best Buy. Cause, you never know when a used one fails on its most expensive part - the motor or bearings.
So if you’d like to keep its value and longevity in faultless performance, use a bag  [big grin]

I agree 100% with FestaMaktool, use a bag!
The bag is the real filter, the other one is 2nd stage to filter clean air back into the room. If you don’t use a bag your filter will quickly clog and your recycled air will be much more contaminated.
