SIAP- I am new to FOG(first post) and have been drooling over a Domino Joiner (500) for sometime. Thanks in part to the ultimate Domino guide I finally made the plunge. In addition to helping with the decision, the guide lead me to the supplemental Manual by Rick Christopherson, which indirectly lead me to the Multi - Position Guide Stop. Like the Manual by Mr. Christopherson, the MPG (a tenon joiner guide stop) is supplemental to the Domino 500 Joiner and the Domino accessories. My guess is that most or all of this is old information to readers of this form. What may be new is the exceptional service Mr. Christopherson provided.
I was fortunate to be in Mr. Christopherson's area (RTS Engineering) this week, so I was able to contact him arrange a visit to purchase a Multi Position Guide Stop/ Self Centering Guide stop Combo. Boy was that a treat. Not only was it wonderful to see what a well appointed Festool shop looks like, it was such a pleasure to have a moment to meet with a very knowledgeable and talented woodworker.
I am too new to the Domino, and woodworking for that matter, to give great insight on this supplemental accessory. What I can say with great confidence is that Rick provided great customer service, opened my eyes to the potential of the Domino and ALL accessories, as well as technique pointers.
Though most of this appears to be a private thank you to Rick. Admittedly, In a way, it is. I thought that if anyone was considering the tenon joiner guide stops , they would be happy to know that they would get service that mirrors Festool's outstanding service.
I hope that I can share my experiences with the Domino, the stops, and Festool Training (This month in Henderson, NV) in future posts.
Excited to woodwork,
Newbie
