Is there a way to simply look at the unit and tell what size cutter is installed ??  I know they are color coded in the carrying case but can't seem to see the color when it is installed.

If you push the motor unit the bit will stick out and you can see if it is big, a little less big, small, or smallest. ;D

Art the cutters are maked on the shaft (threaded end). You do have to remove the motor unit to see it.

The 10, 8 and 6mm are obvious and the 5 is easy because the base shaft curves up forming the cutter :D

Simple; in my systainer is a small box with the four cutters ... the one missing in that box is in my domi !  ;)

Raf

Now you have got me confused.  ;)

When I have a 5mm cutter in my Domi there is still a 5mm cutter in the plastic box of 4.

Are the 5mm's breeding and if so can I expect new born 6, 8 and 10 mm cutters in the near future? ;

Unfortunately, the discriminatory faculties of Americans have been dulled by the imperial system; the rest of us have no particular difficulty in identifying which cutter is which; we just look at it, and if it is very small, it is 5mm, if small, then 6 mm, if medium, 8 mm, and large 10 mm; really not that hard ;D

I see ... I think you are confused with the 5mm that came with your domi. Probably you did not know that this is a dummy and is useless. Send it to me and I will take care of it.

After that, my tip with "the missing cutter in the box is the one in the domi" will work day after day ! Promised !  ;D

It's yours Raf.

But I have had a quick look at the dummy cutter and it seems the spiral is the other way round. I wonder if you use this cutter to put the shavings back if you Domi in the wrong place?
;D

Pat you somehow got an Australian cutter.

You could be right but I think its an Irish one. You Domi from the other side of the wood.

Pat,

I took care of the problem of the dummy cutter on my very 1st project.....  seems that metric domi cutters really don't like imperal staples...  one 1/4" staple made quick work of the 5mm cutter!!!

Or to put it another way.....

One Dummy took care of the dummy cutter :o
