Around noon today UPS dropped a big box on the front porch. The Domino Set and a Systainer with the tenons were there. With exception of the CMS table, I have almost the same Festool tool set as at home in Holland.
Both Systainers were packed in heavy layers of bubble wrap, you could drop them from the Empire State Building without a scratch. Bob Marino knows how to wrap it up. This weekend I will start with a simple set of shelves. First blood for the Domino.

You should have brought the CMS stuff with you. What happened to in the move?

I went to the US "just" for our wedding. I entered the US on a fiance visa. With that I can enter the States only once. As a married person, it is easier to get a green card. Then I can enter and leave as I please. With the green card I go back to Holland, get my essential stuff packed and transported (CMS included), sell/dump the rest and go back.
I will start making a lot of shelves to create storage space for my stuff. After that I will start making nicer furniture.

You should research on something called "advance parole".  The AP will allow you to leave and enter to US.

Most of the people waiting for GC ask for AP to travel during the GC long wait.

My previous stay was already paroled because of an overstay of 2 weeks during my visit before last. I was too sick to fly (or even to think straight). So I was out of a visa-waiver. But I will look into the matter. Thanks for your concern anyway. I really don't understand the action of the government with 10 million aliens on the loose. Sorry for being off-topic.

You could probably bring back several CMS assemblies to the us and sell them here.

And then the real problem starts. Which inserts? I think there are about 10 different inserts.

most here want the of1400 or the ts55

The router insert does OF1010,OF1400 and OF2200. The TS55 is on its own as is the TS75 (which I find weird), the Jigsaw plate will work with the Trion and Carvex(you just need the extra clip on base for the Carvex) Domino does not have one (yet!) and the belt sanders share one (I believe, but as they are both 220v and I need 110v for site use it is unlikely that in the event I bought the 220v belt sander i would be bothered to get the plate to fit in my 110v CMS base) Then there is one for the precursor to the  TS55.
I guess pre-ordering would be the way to go if bringing the kit into the States.

All that aside, congrats on the impending wedding, she must be a good one to put up with the mistress Festool.  ;D

The slot in the plate is pretty close to the blad size (for safety reasons I guess) hence two plates for the TS55 and 75. I am guessing the base of the 75 must be bigger than that of the 55, otherwise you could just mount a 55 in the 75 plate. Given how simply the saws fit in the plate, it would have been possible to design a one size fits all..

Re the belt sanders, I had the same thought as well, but infact the CMS plate has the sander integral, its not a belt sander as such, but a specific machine just for the CMS which isn't removable (which is a shame, might have bought it then).. a bit like the Precisio is a whole machine, not an adapted TS75

I just don't see why there can not be two positions for the foreward clamping unit, one for the TS55 and one further forward for the TS75 to allow for the larger saw baseplate, a slot larger than blade requirement would not pose a safety issue and both plates are of the same dimensions to fit the CMS base, as I said "it's weird"! ;D
