Domino offsets, the easy way

I'm not sure why it took me almost 3 years to figure this out, since I do it all the time when setting the depth rod on my router, but I just had a Eureka moment for doing offsets on my Domino beyond those provided by the fence height gauges. The solution? Set up blocks.

I'm sure many of you have figured this out already, but just in case there is someone out there as slow-witted as I, here you go.

Register the set-up block off one of the steps of thickness gauge and set the fence to it.  Not necessary of the offsets are small/standard, but with the imperial thickness gauge, the thickest preset only centers on a 1 1/8" board, so you're out of luck if you want to, say, add a 1/2" offset for a 3/4" board running into a thicker table leg or a drawer front.

It's kind of odd that in the video they do vertical plunging horizontally (when fence is referenced off the end grain) and horizontal plunging vertically (when fence is referenced off the flat face).  Maybe it's a function of their bench not having many holes, which forces them to use the leg vise?
