For those of you who don't have the time/desire to make narrow stock spacers for your domino.

This set of 5 spacers will give you the ability to center a mortise on board sizes 1-1/2",1-3/4", 2", 2-1/4" and 2-1/2".  They can be used with the fence in the lowest position and allow indexing with the base by simply rotating  the spacer. As long as the stock registers on any part of the curved section, accuracy is assured. A rare-earth magnet holds the spacer in position.

I usually have sets listed on ebay and have have great feedback from the buyers. (username fjrrider) The price on ebay is $55.00 but for FOG members who contact me directly the price is $50.00. Shipping and insurance is $5.00 domestic and $8.00 international. (paypal preferred)

If you are not 100% satisfied your money will be refunded.

If you are interested, contact me using the email address listed in my profile but do send any paypal payments until we get in touch as I machine these in somewhat small quantities.

On a closing note thanks to all of you who make this a great website. I am a frequent reader although seldom post. It is rare when I find that I can add to whatever has already been posted by the local experts.

Sorry about the double post, I was trying to fix the pictures and thought I could delete the earlier posting.

Here is a better picture of a spacer mounted. If anyone desires spacers in different sizes let me know.
Thanks[attachthumb=1]

I found John's spacers on eBay, received my order late last week.  They work as advertised.  A good accessory for the Domino.

I feel real stupid, but can you explain EXACTLY how they work?  And please, write slowly as my brain isn't hitting on all cylinders tonight. :P :-\

Sure, I'll give it a try. I don't know if you have a domino so if I start out a little basic just humor me.

The space between the 2 indexing pins is approximately 2-15/16", but for simplicity, lets call it 3". If you wanted to center a mortise in the center of a 3" board, you would simply place the board between the pins and fire away. But if you wanted to center the same mortise on a 1-1/2" board you couldn't just push the board up against one of the locating pins because the mortise would be centered on the opposite edge of the board. Half in the board, half into thin air. Am I making sense so far?

The locating pins are not movable so this is where the spacers come in. By sliding a spacer over the 5mm locating pin you are in effect moving the reference edge closer to the center of the tool.  The largest spacer brings the reference edge 3/4" from the mortise centerline. the smallest spacer, 1-1/4" from centerline.

I not an expert on loading multiple pictures on this forum but there are some good explanatory pics on my ebay ad:

If the link doesn't work just ebay search festool spacers.

I hope this answered your question. If not, tell me were I fell short and I will try again.
Thanks,
John

Thanks for the explanation, works for me.  I sent you an e-mail to place an order.

Good Morning,
Just a quick note: I moved this from the "Classified" section into the "Sales & Festool Dealer Area."

This is an example of what I was talking about in this post.

Thanks,
Matthew
