Dominofix Router Jig for Festool MFT-Style Hole Grids (US)

Shane, do you have them in stock? I placed order a couple weeks ago, still processing....
Need to rebuild destroyed top.

[member=996]VictorL[/member], there was an issue with our last order with them. We have additional inventory inbound and expect it within the next 7-10 business days. Sorry for the delay, which is not the norm.

I think this jig needs to be bigger. The more times you preposition it the bigger your error. I'd say make it 5x4 holes.

Is there a way to do 3/4” holes with this jig? What would be the setup

That's exactly the reason I opted for the Woodpeckers option.

Thanks for the feedback and we understand your points on this!
The reason why we made it this size is because we could sell it at a very competitive price. Since the jig wouldn’t be used on a daily base, we found that it would be worth giving it this size for the pricing reasons.

Our jigs are very precise, dead on, on a sheet of 4x8. You cannot create an error unless you don’t use a centering mandrel for your router.
Here is a link to the user instructions to give a better understanding on how it exactly works and not to create errors:

I'm interested in this jig but I know from experience that the Festool (491072) bit creates holes that have too much play for the Parf dogs unless they are secured from below.

Does anyone know of dogs that will fit snugly with the Festool bit?  Or perhaps another more suitable 20mm router bit with either an 8mm or 1/4 inch collet?

Make sure you read my "MFT Hole Jigs" thread.  I tried my new Dominofix yesterday and ran into problems with the OF1400 because you can't center the guide bushing.  Mine was off slightly.  I did use a new Festool 20mm bit and tried a sampling of dogs I have (Parf, Qwas, Woodpecker) and all fit about the same and were a little looser than I would like.  I have ordered a couple other 20 mm bits to try .. will let you know how they work out.

Thanks for the reply.
Fortunately I have the OF 1010 although I'm still concerned about the hole size the Festool bit creates.
Both the Parf and Qwas dogs I've tried in the past are not a snug enough fit for my liking. Damn difficult to find another readily available 20mm router boring bit to try with my router too.

Good luck with your attempts to fix the issues with the jig.

Is your copy ring off or did the pattern became off because the bench dogs are to loose in the holes? If its because of the holes, then put the silver tape that is supplied with the jig around the bench dogs to eliminated this as mentioned in the instructions.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask!

The problem is not the Dominofix jig .. I checked it with my Festool MFT table and everything lines up and the supplied dogs hold it in place very tight.  The problem is the Festool OF1400 snap-in guide bushing does not center precisely, which seems to be a common problem from feedback I've read.  If the bushing could be centered (not possible on the 1400) the Dominofix would work great ..and is very fast!

Did you see the thread from before about centering the ring on the OF1400?

I'm waiting on my 8mm collet to come in so I can test it. Had to go to eBay to find one. Had same issue. Took off guide ring and undid the screws below it then basically just reinstalled. Appears to have centered. Need to test it now with my new dominofix.

I heard WP may release their jig again - soon.

Am I correct in assuming you need a 30mm guide bushing for the Dominofix and the WP comes with P-C type bushings included?  (I don't have a Festool router in my arsenal)

Thanks,

Mike

I hope so. I’m well over $200 just getting everything needed to use the dominofix. I should’ve just bought the WP kit.
