Fun idea with the inlay!  The inlay in the posts give the impression that they were turned.

Looks nice. But I'll never understand why so many people on the net apologise for the "bad" pictures and then post perfectly watchable pictures.  [huh]

Eduard,

Very nice!  Just my personal taste, but I would have preferred the bottom skirts around the posts to be darker.

[thumbs up]

Excellent. How thick were the sapelle inlays? Did you rout the field and then hand trim with a chisel? Use an offset inlay guide with a template?

I like it! Looks good!

Just what Ken Nagrod said I would of preferred a darker skirt also!

Maybe because it looks SOOO much nicer standing there?

I hate da!  Try and take a picture of something you did but then looking at the picture you just took it doesn't look as good!  You have to be their to appreciate it more!

I think im going to have this problem with these warddrobes I am building at the moment when they are done I dont think ill be able to get a picture from far enough away to get the full shot!  [mad]

Eduard, That is stunning! Inspired choice of form, grain and contrasting colors.

Any photos of the work in progress? I would love to see how you made those forms and mated them.

Thanks for posting.

When I read the thread tittle I did not know what to expect, mixing fir with sapele, but it looks great!
I like the contrast. Great workmanship!

cheers,

Really like the design and execution - great use of metal with the wood.

I too might change the base from the off white, but that's only a personal choice.

Very nicely done.  Would love to hear more about how you did the inlays.

Thanks for sharing.

Eduard,  Great work, I'd love to see the details of how you did that.  I understand your frustration with the camera since I took over 50 pictures of a black walnut credenza and I could never get a picture that actually represented the color and contrast of the actual project.  I guess that's why they have professional photographers.
