Drawer Slides for Face Frame Cabinets

Hi,

Question for face frame cabinet makers.  What is your preferred drawer slide for kitchen cabinets when you are building face frame cabinets ?  I am starting a face frame kitchen soon and I wanted some good advice. 

I am using a Blum hinge with a 1 1/4 inch overlay and using 1 1/2 inch stock for the face frame.  I think the cabinets should look modern with this narrow of a gap.

I am just trying to figure out the drawer slides.  The panels will not be flush with the inside of the face frame.

I like using the blum under mount soft close these days. It gives a very clean look, i.e. you don't see the slides on the side of the drawer. Only draw back of them is cost, there almost double the cost of a side mount full extension. What ever you go with I suggest you go with soft close slides, no more slamming doors or drawers.

Another vote for Blum undermount soft close . You can find them for around $19 a pair for a 21" slide with locks . Also like the new soft close hinges , I use the 38C they have the 1 1/4" O/L your after .  Make sure you get the right slides for the drawer boxes thickness you use.

where are you guys ordering your blum parts from?  I'm seeing prices near 40 dollars or more on amazon for the slides, locks, and brackets.

I use many different slides, but I like using a filler strip to support the rear of the slide.  I never liked the plastic rear sockets that most of the manufacturer sell.  If it's going to be seen use the same wood as the case work, if not use scrap.

Blum tandem - we order ours from Atlantic plywood. They are also our sheet good supplier that we use for all levels of cabinets and built in features.

I realize that this may not help you much, since it's in the states, but I started buying small quantities from A & H Turf years ago.  Their internet prices for a kitchen's worth of hinges, slides, and hardware was lower than the alleged "contractor" pricing that larger supply houses were offering with a credit app.  I hardly buy any hinges and guides these days, but their pricing on Amerock hardware is better than I have found anywhere else (free shipping on orders over $100).  I also bought my RO 125 from them, but MAP keeps their pricing in line with everyone else. 

A&H's website is pretty funky, and sometimes searching through google will find a product listing on their site easier than their own built-in search.  Service over the phone can be excellent or spotty.  If it's Blum, and you don't need product guidance, you will probably find that they have it in stock, and at the lowest price on the internet.  I'm only two day's shipping distance from them, so that's kind of icing on the cake.

I wouldn't discount Amazon for super-small quantities (one pair of slides, a dozen knobs, etc.).  If you have Prime, it's pretty competitive for some stuff.

I've used A&H as well.  Good prices - $18 for Blumotion drawer slides

Wurth Wood Group also has good prices, competitive with A&H on most things and the absolute best on big pantry glides such as the ones from Fulterer.

I have used A H Turf and also Cabinetree Collection.  I find the latter website easier to use and the prices are comparable.  Other than the website, the service from both companies was excellent.

I order from A H Turf also. They stock just about everything and are very quick filling & shipping the order. On one order they ran short of an item, so they shipped what they had and when they received further quantities, they shipped me my remaining order, 2-day service for free.

Some of these places advertise that they stock the item, but then it takes them 5 -7 days just to fill the order. [eek] I recently ordered some steel saw horses from a stocking supplier 2 states away...took 10 days for me to receive them.
