Drills, drills, drills!

Shane,

I have the part numbers for both the 2007 set and the 2010 set for the 1" and 4" drivers.  They look the same, but have different part numbers.  Who can I talk to at Festool to find out if there really are differences or you guys just changed the part numbers?

Also, here is the picture showing what I was asking to see the inside of.

Any packaging Drill + set?

The Centrotec set is already pretty deeply discounted versus buying the individual components. I'm pretty confident that there will be no additional discounts for bundling with a drill.

Ignore those part numbers. I think it's the part numbers Germany uses for non-retailing packaging versus retail packaging. That's it. The same bits as we've always had.

Like Tom said, the "Plus" is what was once called the "Basic" or non-set version.
Tom, Shane,

Thanks for the info.  It was the name change that threw me.

Regards,

Dan.

How about CANADIAN PRICING  [scared]

Don't hold me to it, but I believe it will be about $490 CAN for the Centrotec set, $225 CAN for the Zobo bits. There should be a communication going to Canadian dealers shortly with exact pricing.

I can confirm those will be the Canadian prices within a $1.

Wouldn't it just be easier to make it USA prices + $1!!! [smile] [smile]

thx

Why cant they do a bloody robertson? Honestly ??? ??? ???

Uh, because torx is the best. [cool]
I agree - is the best (IMO).  But that's not the issue.  The issue is why include Pozidriv and exclude Robertson when there are virtually no Pozidriv screws available in the US and square drive screws are available everywhere?!?  How many Kreg screws are available in Pozidriv?

That set is nice, but it still includes stuff that's not useful in the US and excludes bits that are useful.  For that price, the contents still needs to be tweaked a bit (no pun intended).

Dan,

Pozidrive are common with Blum's cabinet hardware and others.  That's probably the reason.  Also, Christian had posted a while ago about the issues Festool had with coming up with Robertson drivers.

Will all these bits be offered individually? I am interested in the hand driver specifically.

Probably, but not until later in the year.

I have an older Centrotec Set (probably the '07 set) and would also like to obtain [at least] the Centrotec Handle and the Centrotec Adapter to extend the usefulness of my prior purchase.
