After a long time of using lots of Festool products I discovered something new - well, new to me.  When you transport the dust collector (CT22) in a vehicle be sure to check the bag connection to the bag port BEFORE you use it.  It is amazing how fast the bag chamber can accumulate dust outside the bag.  A few minutes using a shop vac and a new bag, properly installed, resolved the mess I made.  Ever think to yourself - "That is the first time that has happened".  Live and learn.

David,

I can relate.  I have been using my ETS150/3 to sand drywall compound extensively over the last month.  I have had several bag failures.  The result was the same as yours.  I don't blame Festool at all for those.  I am going outside of the realm of designed usage.  I found that my electric leaf blower - high volume - low pressure - works well to clean the inside and also to reverse blow the filters.  I just stand upwind!

I just had a hole in the filter bag.  I didn't realize it for a few days of moderate use, then it sounded a little different than normal.  Opened it up and saw the hole in the bag, then I cleaned up the area inside and had to clean out the hepa filters, etc.  It was mainly mdf dust so they cleaned out easily and she purr's again now.
