Iv posted before about my Festool 584162 CTL MIDI GB 240v CTL Midi Dust Extractor and iv been out of action for a bit but now want to get cracking into some woodwork.

Im still not happy with the amount of dust this extractor in snorting up and iv even got the thick 38mm hose fitted. Its useless on the Kapex, Plunge saw and even the jigsaw.

My question is...

Is the bigger extractors more powerful and do the job better? If so any recommendations?

Thanks

I don`t know about the Mini but I have a CT 26 and it is fantastic with the ETS 125, RO 90, TS 55 and DF 500. I have very little use with the Kapex so far and the succion was ok. Next on my project list is to cut rabbet and dados with the 1400, thisa is going to be the ultimate test :)

The bigger extractors are only marginally more powerful. Their main benefit is that you can collect a larger amount of dust before the suction starts to fall off.

Not sure about suction / power of the CTs in the UK but in the USA they are all the same (except for much older Mini / Midi) or close enough to not matter.

On the jigsaw I find collection to be so so. Sometimes I use it sometimes I don't.

On Kapex it is quite good. Not 100% but good enough that I use it in finished , lived in houses. Still a bit to clean up but it stays right close to the saw stand. If you try Kapex without DC connected you will be convinced.

However on the TS55 / 75 , if you find it useless , then something is wrong. The collection should be excellent on the plunge saws. Not 100% but darn close.
