Looking seriously at the TS55 plunge saw and dust extractor package. I am a contractor that does alot of in and out small repair jobs. I am looking for a lightweight model, but one that will perform as a dust collector for the saw(and possibly another festool tool in the future), possibly a Rotex or  something similar. Looking at the models of dust extractors available, the "mini" seems to fit the bill for me. I am assuming that the only difference btween the "mini" and the "midi" is the canister size?  Is it worth the extra cost to get the 22 or 33? I  dont want a gigantic shop vac type vacuum, just  something  to hook up to the tools and maybe a little cleanup afterwards.  Plus I want something small to easily fit in my van(running out of room in there for more stuff!) ;D

The best size to performance is the CT 22. I for one could not use the mini or midi as they are to small and the cfm is noticeably less than the 22 or 33.

I only own the 33's now, but if I had to carry them around I would go down in size to the 22. I think the CT 22 is probably the sweet spot for most.

Very well said, I lug around my CT22 all the time, it is very manageable to take from job site to job site, and large enough to handle a good days work.  At some point I will get a CT33 just to keep in the shop, however if you need portability the CT22 is perfect!  Get the reusable dust bag too, it will save you money in the long-run, as well as being good for the environment / landfills!

Yep. CT22 overall best bang for buck. I did buy the Midi also for installs.

i notice little difference in performance between my mini and 22 with my ts 55, especially if i use the hose from the 22 (straight versus right angle fitting to the vac).  the mini is great for portability and the one that i'll always take for jobs out of my shop.
