I have a DWS780 miter saw. The thing is a heavy beast, and comes with a screw down hold down that is quite annoying to use. I bought one of the Kapex hold downs which is much better. The Festool clamp is much smoother, and I think a worthy upgrade.

It only fits onto the left hand side of the saw; on the right side the fence interferes with the operation. You can see that the left side has an indent to bring the post closer to the fence, so there is enough travel.

On the right side, the post is set back further so the clamp does not operate properly.

Yesterday, while in the spirit of improvement I also decided to attach my pica pencil to the housing by drilling some holes and attaching some zip ties. Now if I could only find a good home for a tape. I'm thinking that maybe I can 3d print something to slip into the bottom channel on the stand, much like some people do for the MFT rails.
