I have a project I'm making for my wife to go in her kindergarten class (so it doesn't need to be too classy). I'm making it out of particle board and was hoping to try edge banding for the first time, particularly with some colour, but I'm having a hard time finding any. I was hoping for red, blue and yellow, then I would get it matched at a box store. Any suggestions on where to get it? I'm in Ontario, Canada. Another option was poplar and painting it. What is annoying with my searches so far is that shipping is more than the cost of 250' and all I can find is poplar! Or another option was paintable melamine, but I haven't looked into that much. Is there another way besides fancy jointing that would work to conceal the edges or any other suggestions to help with the first ideas?

I don”t know if this still exists, but my dad made a lot of (side) tables out of particle board, ‘melamined’ them and edged with a kind of softish pvc-material that had a T-like profile (imagine the arms of that with slightly curved ends), that was available in several colors. You needed to saw or route a slot in the middle of the edge to insert the band.

yeah just checking, we call it body filler or two part filler but as its resin based you can have probs with some paints sticking im using zinsser perma white so hopefully that will cover it ? my edges are really good due to the tsc saw so i dont think it will be much work
