Today is the 8th Anniversary of the Festool Owners Group being out on the internet in the format we use everyday.  Boy have things changed!  [thumbs up]

An internet chat board or forum without participation is nothing more than a blog that doesn't allow comments.  This internet destination - the MOST helpful and informational site populated by YOU the actual users - has grow thru YOUR contributions.

So, I personally want to thank each of you for helping out those who have questions, encouraging those new to Festools, and finally for being the GREATEST bunch of people that I know.  YOU are what makes this site what it is.

THANK YOU!!!

Peter

And thank YOU and everyone else for helping hold it all together and being so generous with your knowledge and experience.

Indeed  [thanks] Peter and Every FOG Participant,

It was just after lunch on Friday 20 January 2006 that I innocently walked into the then new location of Eagle Tools. I had just started a vacation and I was in the market to buy a large sliding table saw. My plan was to use the big saw to turn sheets of plywood into cabinet case parts. The problem was I did not have a shop. I assumed there would be a back-order on the slider saw, during which wait I would rent a shop.

Instead my long-time trusted woodworking tool guru Jesse Barragán, the owner of Eagle Tool, showed me a Festool TS55. In his demo room I clamped a guide rail to a piece of plywood. First try I made as perfect a glue-ready cut as I had ever done using a slider saw. I gulped the green KoolAid. I bought the package deal including a CT22, 2 extra 1400mm rails, the TS accessory kit and a pair of Quick clamps.

Unfortunately my Grand Am was already loaded, so I had to leave my CT at the store. Jesse invited me to come on Saturday when a bunch of woodworkers met at his store.

Those folks suggested I add the side plate to my TS55 and always use a 36mm AS hose with it. They said the best deal was a cleaning set with an added Turbo head. That was how I became a dedicated Festool user. Early in 2007 Jesse's Festool specialist Raúl Dena told me that FOG had started.

Personally I never worry about what I pay for Festools because from the start Festools make me so much money while reducing the frustrations of making cabinets. Ideas shared by and with fellow FOGgers improve my life.

FOG is hands down the best forum I've used on the Net.

Website, Moderators, Users - Are All Excellent!

Great group of guys who give good info freely

Thanks everyone you are the best.

Special shout out to Shane and Peter Seth Phil and the dealers who come here and freely give us info and help to

I've been a member for 10 months now and, thanks to all the exuberance on this site and the various announcements of sales and product reviews, I've watched a lot of green exit my pockets that was soon replaced by a different kind of green in my workshop. [eek]

I may be poorer now, but I've learned a tremendous amount from coming here.

Thanks for all the education, advice and inspiration! [big grin]

[thumbs up]

Lucky to have Seth and Peter as friends and to help out here on the forum.

And, always grateful for the great contributions of our members. I hope most find the FOG to be like a library. You take something for yourself and leave something for someone else.

Happy 8th, FOG! [big grin]

(Really it's older because it was previously on Yahoo Groups for many years)

THANK YOU!!!  ;D

'tis the best forum I have ever participated in!

Thanks to the moderators and FOGgers for making this a great place.

Whenever I have a question about Festools or how to best go about some wood work project I know I can get help from people who have been there done that. Once in a while I can add my two cents worth. From the first I have been treated as a valued poster. When someone has a very simple question they are treated with  the utmost respect, not derision. This does not always happen other places. So Shane, Peter, Seth, and all of you who take the time to give your valuable insights, THANK YOU. I would remind all that time is one of the few things that is not replaceable.

FOG is an awesome resource and really fun to participate in. I don't twit, update status, plus, or really anything else on the web, but I return to this site several times daily to see what's new.

Resounding applause to Shane, Peter and Seth for making it a great place to hang out, and to all participants for making it a really valuable & enjoyable resource.

Happy B-day FOG!
Thank you Seth ,Peter, Shane !
I have learned a lot , and its a great window to the world of Festool .

[birthday song] dear FOG!

I've only been a member for a little over a year, but this site has cost me THOUSANDS of dollars! And I still LOVE IT!

All the great tools coupled with such great advice and camaraderie keep me coming back here to read and hang around - and occasionally to post [wink] something helpful or interesting. When I have been laid up it has often been the single bright spot in an otherwise pretty craptastic day.

I may not say it to everyone personally, but a big THANKS to everyone who volunteers their time and expertise to keep this a lively, educational, and interesting place to visit.

And 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' to the FOG!

Okay, what's a side plate for a ts55?

I wake up in a FOG, go to sleep in a FOG.  [smile]

My first post was in May, 2013 and was followed by a welcome to the FOG by Seth.
(Fittingly this was within a post regarding the need to turn down suction when sanding.)

Thank you all who have assisted me over the past two years, I have enjoyed the technical, the advice, the fun and the debates. And visiting elements in the lives of many members across the world.

My dealer thanks you too, although recent sales have only been 'software'.  [eek]

Additional special thanks to Shane, Seth and Peter.  [smile]

Thanks to all the people who make this forum possible.  And thanks to Festool for having the courage to create a space where people can openly discuss both the positives and the negatives.  Many companies want all the negatives to go directly to their tech support where they are hidden from the public eye.  Personally I find the negatives to be much more educational than the accolades and the way Festool deals with the negatives speaks volumes about the company.

This is a special place.  Great people, helpful, amazing craftsmanship and no attitudes.

I remember those early days on the Yahoo forum.  I still follow 3 groups there, and it is SO painful.  Everytime I go there, I realize what a great place this is in terms of functionality, content, and willingness to help.

Shane, Peter, Seth - thanks for all you do and to the rest of the members, thanks for being helpful and positive toward a passion we all share.  Thanks as well to the many here who create videos of reviews and techniques or photo journals of your work and methods.  They take a lot of time but your interest in giving back shows with every one of them.

Here's to 8 more!

Ditto;  the quality of advice here is absolutely top notch.

And as an Amateur/hobbiest, I especially appreciate the patience and understanding that all of you pros show to me and my basic questions...

Finally a shout out to Matthew Schencker who helped get things going on the right track.
