Hi,

Whoever  placed the vote for "Other Festool Plunge Saw" I am curious as to what type of saw that is?

Seth

My first purchase was a 150/3, still one of my favorite tools.  Thought the absolute best has to be the ATF55 I have.  It's been a pure time and money saver.

Our first purchases were fairly sizable.  (1) ct22  (2) ct mini, a 55, assorted guides, a trion, and a c12.  plus gadgets.  It's been down hill from there.  efficiency and DUST CONTROL rule the roost here.

The then new, first edition RO 125 was my first Festool purchase because I needed it or something like it (and I did not know of the RAS 115 which would probably have better suited my intended work at that time - repairing cracks in old plaster).  The motor housing does not have provision for mounting the edge guard supplied with later machines which have a different housing design.  The housings can be swapped (but you'll void your guarantee if you do it yourself).  After that positive experience came a TS 55, 1400 router and MFT 1080.

My first was the RO 125 and the ct mini
Was a little short on cash ( and Patience ) for a TS 55 and a MFT 1080, so I sold the RO 125  :-\ Bought the saw and  MFT.
Been sliding ever since. ;D
In retrospect, the RO125 was great and I may get one again in the future but the ETS 150/3 and ETS 125 are more suited for my work right now.

Next in line is the OF 1400, hopefully before the price increase.

First was OF 1010 and CT 22 combo with VS 600. Routing with an attached vacuum, that was something new. "Dust collection" hmmm I like it.  After using the 1010 it was clear that the next tool would be an OF 1400.
Remember the Festool rebates ?  8)  About 2 price increases ago ?
I really got a kick out of the systainer thing too.  ;D  For the first time I actually put stuff back and could find it again.

I was a holdout on the TS 55 EQ and MFT, I thought that I had it good with my 5 1/2" skilsaw and a straightedge. And even used the old tape trick to prevent splintering. Got the MFT with the combo, it sat there for a couple of weeks. Did not know what to make of it. Then I used it.
The relentless positive reviews on the clean cut of the festool plunge saws won me over.

My first was the TS 75 (with assorted rails),the CT 33 vac, and the MFT 1080.  I have NOT been disappointed.

Now have add the RO150, Deltex 93, and the 1400 router.

It hath been a slippery slope.

Looking forward to the Kapex (as I have held off on a SCMS) and would like a Domino (for a big project this summer - Storm windows for an old house)

Dave, Am I to understand that the housings can be replaced on the old RO 150 so the edge guarde can be installed?

Tinker,

No, this is the first edition of the RO 125. This does not pertain to the older model RO 150, which was totally redesigned from the older model RO 150.

Bob

Tinker,

Yes.  I have the new style housings, but have not yet installed them.  I have finished the work where the guard would have been most helpful, so now I will wait until my warranty has expired to change out the housing.  I do not know if I will be able to sucessfully transfer the factory stickers that contain the tool model number and serial number, but I am not planning to sell my RO 125 anytime soon.

Dave

I have resurrected an old thread about the Rotex athttp://festoolownersgroup.com/index.php?topic=1763.msg27129#msg27129 and since you are in the process of upgrading your machine, I'd would be very grateful if you could let me have your thoughts on the subject of old and new models of the RO125.

Many thanks

Forrest

Hi,

It is interesting to note that the TS55 is running neck and neck with the no saw option. But if the ATF55 is added in the 55s are ahead. Possibly because the ATFs would have been purchased at a time when Festool was new and less well known in NA.

Dave,

Voting is open with no end date either.  Did you already vote?  Your selection will show in bold on your screen  view of the poll.

Seth

DUH!  I knew that!  But in the new format it looked different to me.  Did it used to be bold all across the line from left to right, (inlcuding the number of that response and percentage) and now it's only bold on the left, or is my age showing?

Didn't the old FOG design have a "Remove my vote" button on the polls?

Hi,

I thik it is an optional parameter when the person starting the poll sets it up. Must be I didn't select it.

As Semenza said in his last message, this is an optional choice.  The person who creates the poll has to check the option.  Of course, your humble forum owner can go in and activate this option for you.  Is this what you want, Seth?
