Epoxy Lab Counter Tops

It is a counter top surface made of an epoxy material that is used in labs as it is chemical resistant.

Yes, epoxy is much harder than solid surface. I don't know how chemical resistant solid surface is either.

I think you are talking about Richlite or Paperstone countertops. Richlite I know is the stuff used on laboratory countertops and is made from paper pulp. Never worked with it but it can be machined using carbide bits just not so sure about what the right speed is to prevent melting or burning of the material. Richlite is based in Tacoma Washington: http://www.richlite.com/  . Here is some fabrication info about Paperstone: http://www.paperstoneproducts.com/ps_fabrication_maintenance.php

Paperstone is great to work with! Cuts, sands and routers like wood. Next time I will be working with it I will give the Domino a go at it.

We have richlite. Very happy with it over the last couple years. As others have stated just like working with wood. I turned down the speed on cutters, I think to 75%?. Don't remember exactly. No problem with melting, did it to reduce ole and smell. Also have icestone on the island but that is different. Do you have a brand name you are looking to use?

Does anybody know how to cut and machine epoxy counter tops?
hi Ive worked with this a few times and cut it as you would any counter top then router with jig any joints and you get a coloured filler to match , that can be sanded (polished) down to leave no visable joints the only bit that i allways find arkward is the gluing on of the end strips so when possible i try to end at a wall or against another unit hope this was of some use
