After seeing a picture of an Esherick cabinet in Fine Woodworking a few years back, I decided that I would try to make the doors one day.  I finally got around to designing it, and found that I just didn't have the skills to make sure that the outside of the door would be perfectly rectangular when I was done.  At the time, I was designing the frame joints as saddle joints in order to get the strength I wanted.

Then along came a Domino.  Made the whole thing relatively easy.

Frames are #2 Cherry.  In the first pic, the panels are figured Chechen.  In the second pic, the panels are curly maple.  Sorry about the orientation of the second picture.

Nice job!  The figure in the maple adds a lot of interest, even beyond the door design.

I've never seen doors like that.  What's the origin of the design?

Wharton Esherick was an architect who did sculpted furniture.  I got the idea from this cabinet:https://www.google.com/search?q=Wharton+Esherick+Victrola+Cabinet&biw=1557&bih=903&tbm=isch&imgil=lIamK-SSAi7VEM%253A%253B_T_ToRb0CG8xBM%253Bhttps%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.pinterest.com%25252Fpin%25252F550916966895109815%25252F&source=iu&pf=m&fir=lIamK-SSAi7VEM%253A%252C_T_ToRb0CG8xBM%252C_&usg=__qOkPc41kN6azVkbIeQTnb2wY41I%3D&ved=0ahUKEwjAxvWeiOHMAhUrxYMKHdSeB34QyjcIKQ&ei=VAg7V8DMJquKjwTUvZ7wBw#imgrc=lIamK-SSAi7VEM%3A

Fantastic work!  It's a little hard to tell from the angle, but are the stiles tapered as they go up (Trapezoidal?, or rather half-trapezoidal)
