Ets 150/5

Hi I have just purchased a 2nd hand ets 150/5. I have fitted a new sanding base. When I start it up I have noticed that the base brake is wearing a groove in the sanding pad, is this normal? I have checked the instructions but it says nothing about this.

Yes this is normal if it is only light, in the end it is the brake that will wear.
